Bertie Fisher (born William Robert Fisher; 21 March 1950 - 22 January 2001) was a Northern Irish rally driver and businessman, and a four time winner of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship in 1990, 1992, 1993 and 1996. He died in a helicopter crash along with his son Mark Fisher and daughter Emma Fisher. Mark was also a young up and coming rally driver.
Bertie managed to win the 1995 and 1996 Ulster Rally as a guest entry, beating the likes of British championship contenders such as Gwyndaf Evans and Alister McRae.
Bertie, real name William Robert, was born in Ballinamallard, Co. Fermanagh, one of four sons of Tommy Fisher, owner of a structural engineering firm, and Elsie Fisher, both originally from Co. Leitrim. Tommy Fisher was one of eight children he had four brothers and three sisters. Tommy was the oldest his brothers names were Samuel,Wallace,Christie and Bob. Samuel and Christie have passed Bob at the time of writing lives in Belfast And wallace lives in England. Tommy's sisters names are Josie Eadaí and Saedi Saedi has passed Eadaí lives near her brother Wallace and Josie lives in county Leitrim.
